A ministry whose mission is to provide Christian after-care support for ex-prisoners. The support not only includes food, clothing, and shelter, but also a constant care environment where the ex-prisoner receives Christian discipleship and practical counseling in all areas of life, in order to become a responsible neighbor in the community.
Today Freedom Gate's board of directors is larger and more enthusiastic than ever before. With the prison population reaching record numbers, there is more and more pressure to release men and women to existing after-care programs.
The ministriy is:
-Goverened by a board of directors who meet monthly and support the ministry with prayer, time, and financial contributions
-Supported by voluntary gifts of individuals, companies and local churches
-A non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization and all gifts to the ministry are tax deductible |
A Story
In a Christmas letter to Freedom Gate, Scott, a former resident, writes, "...Not only is our Savior's birth a miracle, but it took this five time, revolving jail door drug addict away from a life of self-destruction and has turned me into a man that God can call His very own! Wow! Now that's a miracle!! My stay at Freedom Gate, August 2005 - February 2006, was the pivotal turning point in my life. It was through this program (and a lot of patience from my brother Junior) that God used to speak to me and teach me new life skills...I stand here today, a living miracle and testimory to what God can do in someone's life."
For us at Freedom Gate, Scott has been a great encouragement. Since finishing the program, he has married and become a leader in an active church in our community. He has also blessed Freedom Gate as a volunteer, mentor, and financial supporter of the program.
