Intern Calendar

So you can have a better idea of when things will be happening, I have created a calendar for you. I have attached the calendar to this email.

The first training location is to be at a cabin, somewhere near a community called Middleburg, PA.

The time in August, a debriefing time, is being planned to be held around Lancaster, PA area. I will give you more specifics on these when I have them.

As far as the last time we meet, the thinking is to have the interns invite supporters to a closing "program" or a thank you time. It will be a way for you to invite the supporters to hear about the summer. I understand this may be difficult, especially for those who are supporting Emily. However, that is why the paragraph about a meeting in August was mentioned in the support letter I sent out to you.

Keep in mind two things: (1) the calendar is as of 4-14-09; (2) this is the first year of having more than one intern, so please be understanding that we and you are going to be figuring out some of this stuff together. But you can also look at it as a plus - you are the first full "class" of interns.

Child Protection

Christian Endeavor-MidAtlantic's Life Builders Youth Work Camp Ministry takes protecting children, teens, and adults very seriously. To ensure all who attend are protected and provide help in the case of accusations, we require that every person 18 years of age and older have background checks completed and sent to the Christian Endeavor office.

>Chrissy we have yours and Zack is too young for anything to show up on the report.

>Becca and Emily, if you have one that you have done within the past year, you can submit that to us.

Spiritual Check-Up Packet

This packet is part of the spiritual development for the Life Builders Interns. It is to help you learn how and where in your life can you grow spiritually.

Make certain to download and have it completed to bring to the first Intern Training. This can be a great tool to open your eyes to where you are spiritually and learn how you can become more like Christ.

Leadership Assesment

This is a tool which will evaluate current leadership strengths and growth areas according to 12 essential leadership attributes.

-> Download the directions
-> Download, print and complete the Self Test
-> Download, print 2 or 3 copies, and give the copies to people of your choice to fill out and return the Feedback Test
~~ choose 2 or 3 people to complete the Feedback Test. These people can be your parents, a close friend, co-worker, youth pastor, or supervisor at a job.
~~It may be best for you to give an envelope to the people filling out the Feedback Test for them to put their completed form into it and return to you. This way it will not be opened until the review at the Intern Training, and your score is assessed.

Bring all four completed tests to the first Intern Traning. This will be a great tool to reveal your areas of leadership strength and reveal any areas of weakness.
